London Broil Recipe
Leslie Green | The Hungry HousewifeThis London Broil will easily keep a full family full and happy. Read on for details!
I am a meat and potatoes kinda girl, and my hips certainly show it. As long as I can remember, I have loved red meat. Especially a London Broil!
Back in the 70s, my mom seemed to cook red meat all the time and one of her favorites to cook was London Broil. I can remember her marinating it in Wish Bone Italian Dressing for at least 2 days.
The flavor always sticks in my mind and London Broil remains one of my go-to meats. London Broil is generally affordable and is usually cut in a nice family size hunk-of-meat.
It is a tougher piece of meat, so it definitely needs a nice long bath in a marinade. If you skip the marinading, you might just get lock jaw from chewing. Not good.
Take the time out of your day, 5 minutes tops to whip up my marinade... your meat will thank you for it.
If you love this recipe, you may enjoy other British favorites too, from semolina pudding to mincemeat to spotted dick. (Americans, yes that is a real thing!) But, despite the name, this is actually not from the United Kingdom, believe it or not.
A London Broil — as the second part of the name suggests — really just refers to the way the meat is cooked, not the particular kind or cut of beef. The steak is always marinated and grilled.
Here's my recipe for both the marinade and how to cook your delicious steak! It will taste like the perfect homecooked meal, just like my mom used to make.

It's actually really easy, but because it needs to marinate overnight, be sure you plan ahead.
